Precipitated
Barium Sulfate for Industrial Applications
Xinruifeng manufactures precipitated barium sulfate, a white filler used in paints and coatings, plastics and rubber.
White BaSO4 Powder and Its Properties
Xinruifeng's precipitated barium sulfate is an amorphous white BaSO4 powder for industrial filler use. Its CAS number is 7727-43-7 and molecular weight is 233.39.
The powder is chemically stable and has a high specific gravity. It is slightly soluble in water (0.0024 g/100 g water), insoluble in ethanol and dilute acid, and soluble in hot concentrated sulfuric acid.
Other names used for precipitated barium sulfate include precipitated barium sulphate, synthetic barium sulfate and blanc fixe.

Natural and precipitated barium sulfate are separate products in our range. Application requirements, product data and formulation tests guide the choice between them.
Explore Natural Barium Sulfate.Applications in Coatings, Plastics and Rubber
Precipitated barium sulfate is used as a white filler, brightening agent or weighting agent.
-
Paints and coatings
White filler for coating formulations. Consider the binder or resin and the finish you need when assessing suitability.
-
Plastics and masterbatch
Filler for plastics and masterbatch. Selection depends on the resin, the filler's function and processing requirements.
-
Rubber
Filler or weighting agent for rubber. Compare density and fineness with your formulation's test criteria.
Other applications include ink, paper, storage batteries, ceramics, enamel and insulating tape, as well as use as a glass clarifying agent.
For any of these uses, test the material in your own formulation to confirm suitability. Distributors and importers should also specify their customers' end-use requirements.

Compare these properties with your application requirements:
Physical properties
Compare particle size, surface area and true/apparent specific gravity with the fineness, density and processing requirements of your formulation.
Composition and impurities
Review barium sulfate content, iron, sulfide, moisture and residue against your quality requirements.
Formulation evaluation
Assess oil absorption, pH and whiteness using the methods and acceptance criteria for your formulation.
Consider the full set of properties alongside the applicable test methods and sample results when deciding whether the material suits your formulation.
These specifications are for reference only and require comprehensive testing for the intended application before use. The catalog does not state the test methods; do not interpret the average particle size as D50 or whiteness as a percentage.
The catalog reports both specific-gravity values in g/cm³; confirm the definitions and measurement methods before comparing them with other specifications.
